The Embassy of France in Uganda is inviting local organisations to propose sport projects that promote inclusion, gender equality and the French language, with project budgets of UGX 4.5 million to 7.5 million. It suits community groups, NGOs and youth organisations in our network that already run sport or youth activities. The deadline is Sunday 8 November 2026.

What it funds
The call is linked to the French Alps 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and the “Terre de Jeux 2030” programme. It backs local sport initiatives that carry the Olympic values of excellence, respect, inclusion and solidarity, with a focus on girls’ and women’s participation, young people and groups that are usually left out. Every project needs a clear French-language or Francophonie element, and projects can tie in with the Embassy’s events for the 2027 Month of Francophonie.
Who can apply
- Local organisations that can show they are able to run the proposed activities in Uganda
- One proposal per organisation
- Proposals are judged on Olympic values, gender equality, inclusion and accessibility, youth engagement, Francophonie and intercultural dialogue, feasibility and sustainability, innovation and local ownership, and visibility
