What we collect
Data you give us
- When you use our contact form: your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, organisation, service line of interest and the content of your message.
- When you email or call us: the details you choose to share.
- When you respond to an opportunity listed on our site: whatever you send us directly. Applications for third-party opportunities go to the organisation that posted them, not to us.
Data collected automatically
- Essential technical data that every web server receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our server keeps this in security and error logs.
- Only if you agree: analytics data through Google Analytics 4 (GA4), such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device you use and your approximate location. GA4 does not load until you give consent in the cookie banner.
We do not knowingly collect data from children through this website. We do not ask for special personal data, such as health or religious information, through the website.
Why we use it, and on what basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and discussing work with you | Your consent, and steps taken at your request before a contract |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Our legitimate interest in running a safe website |
| Understanding how the website is used, so we can improve it (GA4) | Your consent, given through the cookie banner |
| Meeting legal and accounting obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
Cookies
The website uses a cookie consent tool. When you first visit, you can accept or reject non-essential cookies, or choose by category. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
- Necessary cookies keep the site working, for example by remembering your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are set only if you accept them. They help us count visits and see which pages are useful.
Some pages may offer embedded content, such as a map or a YouTube video, which may set its own cookies. Where possible, we load such content only after you consent.
Where your data is stored
The website, its database and our email are hosted on a server we manage, rented from a hosting provider. Messages you send through the contact form are delivered by our own mail server to our mailbox, info@ingeniouslearningsolutions.com, rather than through a third-party form or email service.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google processes analytics data on its servers, which may be outside Uganda. Google provides safeguards for such transfers under its own terms.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages and emails: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and then only as long as we need them for our records.
- Server security logs: a short period only.
- Analytics data: according to the retention period set in GA4.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where needed:
- with service providers who run our hosting and analytics, under their terms;
- with professional advisers, such as our accountants or lawyers, where necessary;
- with authorities where the law requires it.
How we protect it
The website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to the website administration area is limited to authorised staff and protected with two-factor authentication. We keep software up to date and back up our data securely.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 you have the right to:
- be told whether we hold personal data about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete data we no longer have a reason to keep;
- object to our use of your data, or withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO) at the National Information Technology Authority – Uganda (NITA-U) if you think we have mishandled your data.
To use any of these rights, email info@ingeniouslearningsolutions.com. We will reply within the period set by the law.
