About the role

That means running the mobile survey tools, keeping large field datasets clean and well organised, coordinating field trials, and turning what the data shows into practical advice for the programme. A big part of the job is building the data skills of regional and field staff, many of whom are not data specialists.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead regional field data collection so that it runs efficiently
  • Clean, structure and analyse large field datasets in advanced Excel
  • Turn quantitative and qualitative findings into practical recommendations

  • Use feedback from field managers and back-checkers to improve data quality
  • Train and mentor regional and field staff on survey design, data hygiene and data collection tools

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in statistics, data analytics, applied mathematics, quantitative economics or a related field
  • At least two years of hands-on work in data and analytics, regional data management or field operations
  • Strong command of CommCare, SurveyCTO or KoboToolbox, and advanced Excel for cleaning and structuring data
  • Experience training non-technical staff and leading field data collection teams
