CEGER needed a website that presented its research, consultancy and training work clearly, and that its own staff could keep up to date without a developer. In 2026 Ingenious designed and built ceger.org on a custom WordPress block theme in CEGER’s brand.
What we built
- An admin-managed homepage builder that lets staff reorder, show or hide homepage sections
- A project portfolio, a team directory and a blog
- An opportunities hub where jobs, requests for proposals and grant opportunities are listed and closed automatically after their deadlines
- Interactive governance maps for Uganda and Africa, built as separate WordPress plugins
Quality from the start
We treated accessibility, performance and security as requirements from the start: responsive layouts tested across browsers and screen sizes, accessibility and contrast checks, Lighthouse performance work, image optimisation, security hardening and cookie consent so that analytics load only after a visitor agrees.
The CEGER domain also hosts ACSGuide, one of the field tools we built.
