Harnessing the Crowd to Improve Accountability for the Delivery of Public Services

From February 2016 to July 2019, Ingenious managed field research in Uganda for academics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Brigham Young University. The study looked at how “harnessing the crowd”, collecting and using feedback from ordinary citizens, can improve accountability for the delivery of public services.

Our role

This was our first large international research engagement. Our role covered the field side of the study, including recruiting, training and supervising research assistants, managing data collection and keeping the investigators informed of progress.

The project shaped the research management service we still offer academic teams today.
